If your INHALE application was not installed by OVR on an OVR supplied headset, you will need to install the application on your Pico or Quest headset using a method known as "side-loading."
There are lots of instructions for side-loading content on the internet such as this article.
Your headset manufacturer may require your headset to be in Developer Mode to load content from sources other than their official app store. Follow this link to enable Developer Mode on an Oculus Quest.
We have used an app like SideQuest VR to side-load applications onto the Quest and other Android-based HMDs. Use the link above to download SideQuest VR and follow the setup instructions.
If you've followed the instructions to set up SideQuest and your headset correctly you are now ready to install the INHALE files. If you purchased INHALE from OVR for use on your own headset. OVR would have provided a download that will include a ".apk file", and a ".obb file". There may be other files in the download.
Once you have your headset connected in SideQuest, navigate to the file directory using the folder icon in the top menu. You will need to manually install the .obb file using the folder menu. Your root directory should look like this.
If you don't have a folder in the main directory named "obb" you will need to make one. Inside that folder, you will need to make a second folder named with the package name of the .apk file you are trying to install -- Ex: "com.OVR.INHALE" (this name will vary see important note below)
IMPORTANT NOTE: The exact folder name (inside the obb folder) will be specific to the app and possibly the version of the app you are side-loading. The folder name will match the package name of the .apk you are loading. Contact support@ovrtechnology.com if you have a question about package/folder names.
Once you’ve created the file path that looks like the above (sdcard > obb > com.OVR.INHALE for example) (see important note above regarding folder name) creating the missing folders as required, you can copy the .obb file into the newly created folder. The purple icon in the "+" menu will let you copy a file (in this case an OBB file) to the directory you are in. Once the .obb file is copied into the proper directory/file path, you are all set obb-wise.
You should end up with a directory that looks like
Once the obb and apk are successfully installed you are ready to return to the Getting Started guide to use INHALE by OVR.
Once your content is successfully side-loaded, your content will be located in the "unknown sources" section of the Quest application library. (see image below)
Use the "+" sign and create a new folder from the menu that pops up. Click the icon that looks like , from there the blue icon will let you make a new folder
The .apk file can be installed using the Install Icon in the top menu bar and selecting the apk you want to install in this case the INHALE apk.
