Please Remember to read the full INHALE Documentation Section, and the ION User Documentation, Including the Health and Safety Warnings.
Your ION box includes the device, the ION device, a Scentware cartridge, and a charging cable. Make sure your ION is fully charged before using. To charge your ION plug the included USB cable into the left side of the ION device.
For more information on using the ION Device, see the full ION User Manual.
Remove the shipping cap. (Replace the cap when the cartridge is not in use)
Before using the cartridge, gently shake or turn the cartridge upside down to move the liquid scent toward the nozzles.
Fully insert the Cartridge, label side out so that into the side of the ION. You should hear or feel a soft click when inserted all the way.
Please read the documentation that came with your VR headset to fully understand the headset its functions and operations. If you are using a Pico Headset supplied OVR, you can find additional information on the Pico Interactive website. When you are familiar with the operation of your VR Headset, you can use the elastic band to attach the ION over the front of the headset. The ION should sit below the bottom of the headset and should line up with where your nose would be when wearing the headset.
Please Note: The ION and/or the ION strap may block certain buttons or ports on the headset. Please make sure the ION isn't going to accidentally adjust or hit these buttons, you can adjust the strap or the ION accordingly. For example, on many headsets including the one included in the INHALE kit, the physical volume switch is located on the bottom, so you may need to squeeze your finger between the ION and the headset to adjust the volume.
The ION power button is located on the bottom of the device. Pushing and holding the button for approx 3 seconds, should power on the device, indicated by a light in the logo on the front. To turn the ION off, push and hold the power button for 3 seconds, the light on the front of the device will blink, then turn off when the button is released.
The device does have a sleep timer, and will automatically turn off after a certain period of idle time (not connected or not emitting scent). Remember to turn the device on, just before launching the INHALE application. The ION and the headset will communicate with each other over Bluetooth (BLE). Once you have launched the INHALE app you can check the BLE connection between the headset and the ION in the Settings Menu, under the Help setting. If the ION does enter sleep mode, follow the steps above to turn the device back on, you may need to re-establish the connection in the INHALE settings.
To put the headset on, slip the back behind your head, turn the dial to control fit
Inhale only uses 2 buttons on the hand controller, the "joystick", which you can push down and manipulate to control “teleporting.” And the “trigger” which you will use to grab or navigate
Create a play boundary by drawing a safe play space in an open area, as you approach the boundary’s edge a grid will appear to let you know you are leaving the defined area. For more information please refer to the documentation that came with the headset.
To launch the INHALE app, simply select “INHALE by OVR” from the Home Screen by pointing at it and pulling the trigger to start your escape. INHALE will attempt to connect to your ION automatically at launch.
Please turn your ION on (see above) right before launching the INHALE by OVR application.
This home screen also has quick access to some of the headset settings on the right-hand side, these include, (from top to bottom) setting a boundary or playspace, connecting your headset to your WiFi network for app and firmware updates, casting the headset vision to a compatible external screen, and other headset settings which may require an admin access code which OVR will provide if necessary, but should not be needed under normal operating circumstances.
It is important to use the Network Icon on the right-hand side of the home screen to enter your WiFi network settings. Keeping the headset on a WiFi network will make sure you are alerted if updates are available for your headset or the INHALE application. In some cases, these critical updates will install automatically making sure you are always on the latest and most stable versions of the Pico Interactive and OVR Technology software updates.
Upon launching you are taken to the “Gallery.” The Gallery is your home base, where you can adjust user settings, pick up your breath totems, and navigate to the different experiences.
As stated above INHALE will attempt to automatically connect to your ION device upon launch.
If your ION is not powered on or has trouble connecting, you will see a warning that an ION cannot be found. If your ION does not automatically connect or you need to manually connect a different ION, see the "Help" section of the Settings page.
If you have multiple IONs, a "best practice" it to launch IHNALE and power up IONs one at a time. If there are multiple IONs on, INHALE attempts to connected to the last ION it was connected to, or if only one ION is found it will connect to it. Other wise you may have to manually connect to the correct ION.
The Main Menu is always near you. It floats next to you in the form of a bubble. Items like user settings, starting/stopping the meditation track, and navigating back to the gallery, are located in the Menu. To select items from the menu pass your hand through the bubbles
User Settings can be adjusted in the settings menu, a beam will appear as you point at selections, use the trigger to select them. There are various player settings that can be adjusted. For more detail on user settings see the "Settings" Page.
Settings, include player height and reach will adjust the proximity of some things such as the floating bubble menu, Sound/Volume settings, Scent Intensity settings, a help menu that will help you connect to a specific ION if you have multiple IONs, or the ION does not automatically connect. You will also find settings that will control the automatic start of the meditation or tutorial audio tracks.
For more detail on user settings see the "Settings" Page.
You can move in VR by walking as you would in the real world (you will get a warning if you move outside the play space) or by pushing down and on and moving the joystick to “teleport”
“Breath Totems” can be found on the pedestals in the corners of the gallery. These are objects you can take with you between scenes and can provide a scent focused object during your meditation. Currently, there are 2, the flowers and the orange.
Pointing your hand at one of the “paintings” in the gallery and pulling the trigger will transport you into one of the 3 environments that make us the INHALE experiences. They are Shore, Waterfall, and Summit
You can choose to meditate by the shoreline...
or meditate by a running waterfall...
or meditate on a mountain top.
The Menu will always be near you, where you can start or stop your guided meditation, return to the gallery, adjust user settings, or end your session Remember pushing your hand through the bubbles will select that item
Push through “Exit” from the Menu when ready to return to the real world
